The Environmental Management Tribunal is established by Section 56 of Environment Management Act 2005 comprising of a Legal Practitioner qualified for appointment as a judge, as chairperson, appointed by the Judicial Service Commission and 2 other members appointed by the Minister. The Tribunal may hear and determine any appeal referred to it under this Act or any other written Law. The Tribunal may confirm or dismiss the appeal. In hearing an appeal, the Tribunal may state a case to the High Court for its opinion. The Chief Justice may make rules and procedures of the Tribunal.
