Reporting Responsibilities;

  1. Reports to: IT Manager
  2. Liaises with: Judicial Officers, Court Support Staff, ITC Personnel, Stakeholders
  3. Subordinates: Nil

 

The Position

The position reports to the IT Manager through the Senior Software Analyst/Developer and Assistant Analyst Programmer exists to assist the IT Section in providing Desk side technical support for the Department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, maintaining and repairing hardware and software for Judicial computers, printers and other IT equipment’s;
  • Assist in installing and configuring Judiciary’s internal and external area data communications networks which may carry data and voice communications following Govnet standards;
  • Resolve network communications problems to ensure users access to judicial networks;
  • Install and repair Windows based computers with standardized applications and networking software, diagnosing and solving problems that develop in their operations;
  • Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance;
  • Undertake other relevant duties assigned by Manager IT

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Person

In addition to a Diploma in Computing/Information Technology/Information System or related electronic field preferred or equivalent, the following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role:

Knowledge and Experience

  1. Practical and working knowledge of IT infrastructure hardware, software, troubleshooting, maintenance and networking;
  2. Knowledge and understanding of the applicable laws, policies, procedures and the organization requirements for good document management systems;
  3. At least 1-2 years work experience in this IT field.

 

Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  2. Planning and time management skills;
  3. Ability to manage workload and develop out of the box solutions, document these and teach work colleagues;
  4. Ability to follow instructions including Government ITC authorized standards and methodologies on procedures and meet set deadlines, in particular with regard to IT activities;
  5. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot IT problems and find solutions;
  6. Demonstrated ability to monitor and assist in controlling the electronic data processing systems for processing of data;
  7. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.

 

Personal Character and Eligibility

Applicants for employment in the Judicial Department must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 55, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicant will be required to provide a medical report and police clearance prior to taking up duty.
