Reporting Responsibilities;

  1. Reports to:           IT Manager
  2. Liaises with:         Judicial Officers, Court Support Staff, ITC Personnel,

                             Stakeholders

The Position

 

The position reports to the IT Manager through the Senior Software Developer/ Programmer and IT Systems Administrator to assist the IT Section in providing helpdesk and application support for the eFiling System.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Level 1 technical support to end-users via various channels (phone, email, chat, remote support and desk side).
  2. Log and track support tickets using a helpdesk system, prioritize, and escalate issues as needed.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and application issues promptly.
  4. Collaborate with senior team members to resolve complex issues and implement updates as and when necessary.
  5. Monitor and troubleshoot system and application performance issues.
  6. Conduct training sessions for end-users and create documentation/user guides for self-service.
  7. Maintain accurate records of support activities and solutions in a knowledge base, documenting standard operating procedures and best practices.
  8. Participate in cross-functional projects related to IT infrastructure and applications, identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, providing excellent customer service by being responsive, courteous, and professional in communication with end-users and stakeholders.
  10. Undertake other relevant duties assigned by Manager IT

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Person

 In addition to a Diploma in Computing/Information Technology/Information System or equivalent, the following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role:

Knowledge and Experience

  1. Practical and working knowledge of digitalised document management systems and IT Infrastructure including hardware, software, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  2. Good understanding of customer service principles and best practices, with the ability to provide courteous, efficient and a timely support to internal and external stakeholders
  3. Good experience with helpdesk support operations works, including ticketing systems, incident tracking and resolution processes to ensure a systematic and organised approach to handling IT support requests.
  4. Experience in developing and conducting user training sessions to empower court staff and other stakeholders in using digitalised platforms effectively.
  5. Experience in creating users guides, SOPs and other documentation works to aid in support, self service and good record keeping.

 

Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills tailored to a legal context, facilitating clear interactions with court personnel and legal professionals.
  2. Strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to strategically manage workload, develop efficient solutions, and document procedures for colleagues and stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  3. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot IT issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
  4. Proficient in monitoring and optimizing electronic data processing, ensuring efficient and secure handling of court-related data.
  5. Proven ability to work cooperatively within a team environment, understanding the unique needs and workflows internal and external stakeholders.

 

Personal Character and Eligibility

Applicants for employment in the Judicial Department must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 60, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicant will be required to provide a medical report and police clearance prior to taking up duty.
