Reporting Responsibilities;
- Reports to: Assistant Accounts Officer (Ledgers)
- Liaises with: Accounts Section Staff, Court Support Staff

The Position
The position reports to Principal Accounts Officer through Assistant Accounts Officer (Ledgers), Accounts Officer and Senior Accounts Officer and is responsible for ensuring that the management of revenue and trust monies are in accordance with the department Finance Manual, Financial Instruction and Finance Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all revenues and trust monies collected from various court registries are receipted and banked on a daily basis;
- Monitor and control the issuance of receipts and licence books;
- Ensure that the distribution registers and main stock registers are properly maintained;
- Preparation of SI form before posting revenue/trust monies transaction to the general ledger system;
- Ensure that all warrant monies receipted by Prosecution Office and Prison Department and Post Office is accounted for;
- Issue of debit note to Post Fiji on a monthly basis;
- Ensure cheque leafs and receipt books are in stock.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The Person
A pass in Fiji Seventh Form Examination with Accounting as one of the subjects or equivalent. Relevant work experience and a pass in Service Examination “H” is an added advantage together with the following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role:
Knowledge and Experience
- Practical and working knowledge of the functions of Accounts Section;
- Understanding of the 2013 Fijian Constitution; Financial Instructions, Policies and Procedures;
- At least 1 year work experience in the Accounting field.
Skills and Abilities
The applicant should have demonstrated the following skills and abilities:
- Good communications and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to follow instructions and meet set deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to organize workload and work as part of a team;
- Capacity to use computer programs to support the operations in the Accounts Section;
Personal Character and Eligibility
Applicants for employment in the Judicial Department must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 60, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicant will be required to provide a medical report and police clearance prior to taking up duty.
