Salary Range:       $17,511 – $22,114

Reports To  :         Senior Administrative Officer (Assets)

Department:         Judicial Department

  1. Liaises with:         Assets Section Staff, Court Support Staff, Stakeholders
  2. Subordinates:       Nil

 

The Position

The Clerical Officer will be responsible for facilitating procurement of goods and services and administer maintenance of electrical, plumbing and other building defects in Government Buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Executive Officer (Central/Eastern) for the Procurement of Goods, Services and Works for all courts in the Central/Eastern Division.
  2.  Administer rectification and servicing and replacement of air-conditioning unit   at Government building and other courts in the Central/Eastern Division as and when the need arises.
  3. Any other duties allocated by the Senior Administrative Officer, Manager HR, Deputy Registrar (Corporate)  and the Chief Registrar

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

 The Person

A good pass in Fiji School Leaving Certificate or Form 7 or equivalent. Note: Officers must have passed the Service Exam H (1) before confirmation of their appointment. Computing Skill is desirable. The following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role:

Knowledge and Experience

  1. Practical and work based knowledge and understanding of Fijian Constitution (2013), ER Act, PSC Act, OHS Act and other Government Policies, Rules and Regulations;
  2. Knowledge and experience on a broad range of Administration functions;
  3. At least 1-2 years work experience in the Administration and Human Resources field;

Skills and Abilities

The applicant should have demonstrated the following skills and abilities:

  1. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  2. Good report writing skills and a proven ability to make proper submission;
  3. Proficient time management and planning skills;
  4. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and meet set deadlines;
  5. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team environment;
  6. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information;

 

Personal Character and Eligibility

Applicants for employment in the Judicial Department must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 60, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicant will be required to provide a medical report and police clearance prior to taking up duty.
