Reporting Responsibilities;

  1. Reports to:           Deputy Registrar Northern
  2. Liaises with:         Administration Section Staff, Court Support Staff
  3. Subordinates:       Nil

 

The Position

The position reports to the Principal Administrative Officer. The majorities of day to day contacts with the Deputy Registrar involve consultation and offer timely advice on all administrative services and performance by staff. While with other superior and subordinate staff contact involves overall overseeing of delegated personnel, training, registry, storekeeping, cleanliness and other responsibilities and duties.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide effective leadership and ensure prompt implementation of management plans for the delivery of administrative/ personnel/ financial functions of the divisions.
  2. Policy and regulation advice to staff.
  3. Collating monthly administration report.
  4. Oversee the transport, leave, registry and travel arrangements for the division.
  5. Advise the Deputy Registrar and Section Heads on all personnel/ administrative matters and functions.
  6. Responsible for receiving, acknowledging and processing of Justice of the Peace applications
  7. Update of Justice of the Peace files and the electronic data base.
  8. Assist in the Justice of the Peace renewals, appointments, workshops and preparation of the certificates.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Person

A pass in Fiji Seventh Form Examination [FSFE] or equivalent. Pass in Service Examination H.

Knowledge and Experience

  1. Practical and working knowledge of the administration functions;
  2. Sound knowledge and understanding of the Fijian Constitution (2013), Civil Service Acts, General Orders and Department Policies and Directives;
  3. Relevant work experience is an added advantage.

 

Skills and Abilities

The applicant should have demonstrated the following skills and abilities:

  1. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  2. Ability to follow instructions and meet set deadlines;
  3. Proven ability to effectively organize workload  and work as part of a team;
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information;
  5. Ability to utilize computer programs to support the operations of the Administration Division

 

Personal Character and Eligibility

Applicants for employment in the Judicial Department must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 60, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicant will be required to provide a medical report and police clearance prior to taking up duty.
